7. Eddy Current Testing
Eddy current testing is another non – destructive testing method. It uses electromagnetic induction to detect surface and near – surface defects in the stainless steel.
When an alternating current is passed through a coil near the pipe, it creates eddy currents in the steel. Any defects in the pipe will disrupt these eddy currents, and the changes can be detected by the testing equipment.
